This Time of Year - Christmas CD
I'm excited to announce that in November (2010) I'll be releasing my first ever Christmas CD. It will contain a mix of standard, traditional carols and a few original tunes I'm writing. The title is THIS TIME OF YEAR... it's a simple idea that recognizes and celebrates the attitude of love and charity that we all feel during the Christmas season.
Musically I'm going in a different direction. Since it's a Christmas CD, I'm trying to stay true to the "feel" of a Christmas song. The instrumentation will consist of a string quartet, upright bass, percussionist and me on acoustic guitar. I also have several friends from Memphis, Nashville and Orlando that will join me on the project.

Cancer
On May 18, 2009 I was diagnosed with cancer. The type of cancer I have is "the best kind to get" as it is highly treatable and doesn't spread fast. They have already removed the tumor and I will begin radiation treatment sometime in July. Please be in prayer for me and my family. But also, please reach out to those around you who suffer. This event has helped me to see the character of God in a new and fresh way. I now know that Gods great gift to us isn't taking away the suffering or pain... but in walking with us through it. He is so close to us all and yet sometimes it takes something like this to help us see how close he in fact is.
